When MEP (Systems as it was called then) appeared a year later they extended the concept to Mechanical and Electrical (plumbing lumped in with Mechanical till release 2013). When Mechanical is assigned Revit changes the nature of what plan and reflected plan mean. The concept of View Discipline appeared with Revit Structure.

Working with a client the last couple evenings I found a quirky condition with a column family that has a nested detail component to manage masking the way they like. Then I tried changing the column to use the Column Style settings: Slanted - Angle Driven and Slanted - End Point Driven. Changing a Username. Swap back.no

System families have a Function setting. Thats true for Walls, Floor, Roofs and Ceilings. If changed I suspect people would have less trouble deciding which function is appropriate. It cannot be that difficult of change to make for Autodesk either. What you are suggesting is a much bigger change. Labels: Dept.

Further, views can be tied to view templates and have changes to a view template take effect immediately in a view or many views. We can apply a view template like before, just to make a change or we can assign a view template to the view so that it will alter the view without the past extra step of applying the view template.

The problems are with autodesk's management of the software and of the paying client base, who are always secondary to the shareholders. How many revit 2013 changes (I can't call them all improvements) address AUGI wishlist items? I think we're just at the beginning of massive change in the industry. The soluton?
