When MEP (Systems as it was called then) appeared a year later they extended the concept to Mechanical and Electrical (plumbing lumped in with Mechanical till release 2013). Daryl used plan views as his example of how the help documentation isnt accurate. Plan views are not the best view type to see the truth in the help claims.

Interestingly, in Ceiling Plan views only, when we take advantage of this we lose the ability to show just two lines with Detail Level: Coarse. Seems to work fine in plan views though. Could it be that the wall is not being cut in the ceiling plan view and the multiple lines are actually projection lines?

It is now possible to create new view types for all views except for area plans and sheet. This means you can create your own versions of floor plans according to discipline or perhaps design phase. It makes it easier to keep certain sections (details/wall sections) and elevations (interior) off of overall floor plan views for example. Related to this is the notion that there are representations that wed like to control for floor plan orientation and offer a different appear for the reflected ceiling plan (RCP) version.

Much like annotation graphics in lighting fixtures wont show up on sloped ceilings, just the 3D geometry. Did you un-check 'Show family pre-cut in plan views'? Site Information.
