Wall Floor Interaction and Linked Models. The wall continues past the floor as if it isnt there. I should mention that this works the other direction too, since the reveal is part of the wall it will leave a "hollow" space for the structural models floor slab to occupy. Dont define materials in families, define material parameters instead (or possibly sub-categories) as much as possible so materials can be assigned in a project, where they really matter. Dont include parameters in families that dont change geometry, instead put them in project templates and apply them to the categories they affect.

Rooms and areas can be deleted in model views like floor plans and ceiling plans. The contrast or inconsistency compared with rooms and areas is that you can delete the sheet from the Project Browser and it is removed from the sheet list (schedule). Related to this is the notion that there are representations that wed like to control for floor plan orientation and offer a different appear for the reflected ceiling plan (RCP) version.

When MEP (Systems as it was called then) appeared a year later they extended the concept to Mechanical and Electrical (plumbing lumped in with Mechanical till release 2013). Engineers dont generally do reflected plans so Revit made it easier to generate regular floor plans that show their elements in a way they expect to see them.

Could it be that the wall is not being cut in the ceiling plan view and the multiple lines are actually projection lines? It would be more appropriate to create the ledge with a slab edge applied to the floor slab and then the brick veneer pulled down to the ledge.much like the order of construction would have it happen anyway.

There isnt an easy button to just eliminate shared coordinates in a project. You can move the Survey Point back to the same spot as the Project Base Point and then use Specify Coordinates at Point to reset the coordinates the file is using. You can't turn on the Visibility of either Survey or Project Base Point in a Link.

Over here on the MEP side, we will take an hour to make, say, an air handling unit per the 2-D selection drawings from the vendor, add the necessary connectors, then 'load into project' We will then save it as a stand-alone family, with a useful file name, in a server folder with the vendor's name. stimmo520 said.
