When MEP (Systems as it was called then) appeared a year later they extended the concept to Mechanical and Electrical (plumbing lumped in with Mechanical till release 2013). Then again I could just select multiple views in the project browser and apply them. I'm a little concerned w/ the new 2013 view template feature as it takes away the flexibility of independently controlling the VG per view regardles of the View Template assigned to it. It was tied to the project units and you had to alter a dimension style to not use the project units settings in order to use it. This means your dimension styles can continue to depend on the Project Units as well as suppress the spaces in dimension values. The option for Suppress Spaces exists in the the Project Units dialog.
