Control Wall’s Material Return. A door or window family has the ability to control the return of materials (i.e. The exterior and interior materials can be controlled separately. These adjustments change the 3D model, not just the 2D plan-view. A single door family is controlling the various conditions shown below.

It is now possible to create new view types for all views except for area plans and sheet. This means you can create your own versions of floor plans according to discipline or perhaps design phase. We have actually been able to do this with Area plans for some time, in a way. Builds and Updates. Site Information.

It makes it easier to keep certain sections (details/wall sections) and elevations (interior) off of overall floor plan views for example. Combine this with the Detail Level concept and wed have even more granular control over the information and geometry in a family. Currently what we show in plan will show the same in the RCP.

Recently I was working with a team, their building is a million square feet overall, and opening the whole file took considerably longer than selectively focusing on a single sectors workset. Building Shell or Envelope. Is this part of the building separated obviously from another part and could easily be grouped separately?

Daryl used plan views as his example of how the help documentation isnt accurate. Plan views are not the best view type to see the truth in the help claims. When Mechanical is assigned Revit changes the nature of what plan and reflected plan mean. They wont with Architecture. They are there, just above the view.
