When MEP (Systems as it was called then) appeared a year later they extended the concept to Mechanical and Electrical (plumbing lumped in with Mechanical till release 2013). Daryl used plan views as his example of how the help documentation isnt accurate. Plan views are not the best view type to see the truth in the help claims.

It is now possible to create new view types for all views except for area plans and sheet. This means you can create your own versions of floor plans according to discipline or perhaps design phase. Further, views can be tied to view templates and have changes to a view template take effect immediately in a view or many views.

It makes it easier to keep certain sections (details/wall sections) and elevations (interior) off of overall floor plan views for example. Related to this is the notion that there are representations that wed like to control for floor plan orientation and offer a different appear for the reflected ceiling plan (RCP) version.

Rooms and areas can be deleted in model views like floor plans and ceiling plans. That is intended to make it easier to place them elsewhere in the model without having to recreate them from scratch if their current location needs to be changed. Site Information. These adjustments change the 3D model, not just the 2D plan-view. Note the two “wall closure” parameters (shown below) need to be “locked” so they stay positive (in the correct direction) when the host wall thickness changes. In plan you get something like this. Site Information. at 8:00 AM.

Working with a client the last couple evenings I found a quirky condition with a column family that has a nested detail component to manage masking the way they like. Then I tried changing the column to use the Column Style settings: Slanted - Angle Driven and Slanted - End Point Driven. Site Information. Swap back.no
