System families have a Function setting. Thats true for Walls, Floor, Roofs and Ceilings. Finish 1 [4] = Finish Exterior [4]. Finish 2 [5] = Finish Interior [5]. If changed I suspect people would have less trouble deciding which function is appropriate. Wall Floor Interaction and Linked Models.

When people first make a curtain wall that is supposed to get a door they quite naturally assume the door tool is the right place to start. Curtain walls are special and they are made up of curtain grids, panels and mullions. We dont use the Door tool.
