System families have a Function setting. Thats true for Walls, Floor, Roofs and Ceilings. If changed I suspect people would have less trouble deciding which function is appropriate. That post is about Openings and this one is about curtain wall panel doors. When people first make a curtain wall that is supposed to get a door they quite naturally assume the door tool is the right place to start. Curtain walls are special and they are made up of curtain grids, panels and mullions. We dont use the Door tool.

Using that method in conjunction with key to select ALL the walls, you can get a VERY quick SF. The downside is that is uses the wall's centerline. In addition, I can use the grips of the mass to adjust the perimeter if I need to and the floor area dynamically changes. Comments: Comments are moderated to manage spamming.

A few changes have been made this year as to how the updates are accessed. Improves stability when selecting a new host for an element within an In-place Wall. Improves creation consistency with Physical Wall when coping an Analytical Model Wall. Improves stability when splitting pipes which belong to different systems.

Such as nesting families, Variable swing features 2d/3d, Alignment for adjacent walls and creating a variable multi-lite panel. Change the scale of the view to make it easier to constrain, select geometry. On a somewhat related note, is there a way to change or get rid of added object styles in a parent family? at 8:00 AM.

When MEP (Systems as it was called then) appeared a year later they extended the concept to Mechanical and Electrical (plumbing lumped in with Mechanical till release 2013). When Mechanical is assigned Revit changes the nature of what plan and reflected plan mean. The concept of View Discipline appeared with Revit Structure.
