The problems are with autodesk's management of the software and of the paying client base, who are always secondary to the shareholders. How many revit 2013 changes (I can't call them all improvements) address AUGI wishlist items? I think we're just at the beginning of massive change in the industry. The soluton?

Further, views can be tied to view templates and have changes to a view template take effect immediately in a view or many views. We can apply a view template like before, just to make a change or we can assign a view template to the view so that it will alter the view without the past extra step of applying the view template.

Youve just downloaded some content from a manufacturers site and realize that none (or many) of its most interesting parameters are not going to show up in your schedule. Change the scale of the view to make it easier to constrain, select geometry. Dont include parameters in families that dont change geometry, instead put them in project templates and apply them to the categories they affect. On a somewhat related note, is there a way to change or get rid of added object styles in a parent family?

These days I can select the desk, click Type Properties and, assuming the person who made the family provided a parameter to manage its material, I can click on the material value, which exposes the sneaky "Browse" button. The "front door" for materials is really on the Manage tab, the checkered globe button. Keeping count? Parameters.

It can be seen from within a project but not scheduled or tagged unless it is a built in parameter like those listed under the Identity group (and provided for us by Autodesk). Consider that a Project Parameter is part of a project and applied to categories of families so that it can be scheduled, but NOT tagged. Changing a Username.
