System families have a Function setting. Thats true for Walls, Floor, Roofs and Ceilings. If changed I suspect people would have less trouble deciding which function is appropriate. Delete Sheets In Browser or Schedules. Revit warns us that they have been deleted from the model but they are still listed in schedules. To really delete them we have to open a schedule view and delete them there. How about instead having a Rooms explorer, like you can explore Schedules, Sheets and Families? Whadya think?

That post is about Openings and this one is about curtain wall panel doors. When people first make a curtain wall that is supposed to get a door they quite naturally assume the door tool is the right place to start. Curtain walls are special and they are made up of curtain grids, panels and mullions. We dont use the Door tool.

A few changes have been made this year as to how the updates are accessed. Improves stability when selecting a new host for an element within an In-place Wall. Improves creation consistency with Physical Wall when coping an Analytical Model Wall. Improves stability when splitting pipes which belong to different systems.

Using that method in conjunction with key to select ALL the walls, you can get a VERY quick SF. The downside is that is uses the wall's centerline. I can then produce a mass floor schedule to view the floor area. Comments: Comments are moderated to manage spamming. Detail Level Ignored with Unlocked Wall Layers.
