These divisions, while relevant to the architectural model, are ruining the possibilities of creating gbXML files without extensive work on the part of the engineer to remove the room separation lines, and then repair the damage done to the room names and numbers. However the Room Separations still existed. We just couldn’t see them.

The whole model is still there, just not visible, thatll provide some relief for performance sake. Recently I was working with a team, their building is a million square feet overall, and opening the whole file took considerably longer than selectively focusing on a single sectors workset. Wall Floor Interaction and Linked Models. When we have architecture and structure in separate Revit models we end up with somewhat clumsy graphics in wall sections. Make a system type parameter into an instance parameter, select dimension with a label in view, check instance parameter in option bar.

It was meant to make it simple to alter the appearance of our model to be more in sync with what a structural engineer wants to see. The first book is Mastering Autodesk Revit Structure 2010 (Wiley/Sybex). I wrote the foreword for the 2010 version and then contributed to 2011 and 2012. You know, looking at my bookshelf, I have every year of Revit since 2010 represented but I doubt I will purchase a 2013 book this year. Thanks for the confidence building!
