Design revealed for replacement of iconic footbridge Watkins Glen, New York – The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and HistoricPreservation (OPRHP) has revealed the design of a new signature footbridge at the entrance of Watkins Glen State Park.
Construction on the project has begun and the completion is targeted for 2026, in time for the 250 th anniversary of American independence. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls will provide a view of the undercroft, and an immersive theater presentation will project images of historic events onto the foundations.
