As part of the project to preserve this Grade One listed building for future generations, a fire resistant solution was required for an ornate window in the newly created Bright Hall, a new community space. The SYSTEMGLAS Ligna timber-framed fire resistant glazing system provided the ideal solution.

Floor-to-ceiling glass at the entry and along the length of the back façade blur the line between interior and exterior and frame views of the courtyard water feature at the front and the deck and landscaped yard at the back. To create a new building design, the architect, Studio Gang , began the designing process in 2016, analyzed the various structural, heating, and material systems of the museum’s additions and interviewed curators and staff to understand how people and art moved through the building over time. This central space acts as a flexible atrium.
