The new signature 266-foot pedestrian bridge was designed with community input, opens in 2026 Buffalo, N.Y. – The 266-foot Ralph Wilson Park bridge was successfully installed over the I-190, marking another important milestone in the complex construction project underway at the park. Designed with community input to increase access to the waterfront, the bridge will create a stunning new pedestrian and bicyclist entrance to Ralph Wilson Park when it opens to the public in early 2026.

While many parts of the marketplace saw a general decline in activity throughout 2024, the luxury housing market saw some growth. According to a report from online real estate database PropertyShark, 67% of the 100 most expensive U.S. zip codes experienced a rise in median sales prices, compared with only 29% in 2023. A record 15 zip codes had median sales prices over $4 million, while only 15 remained below $2 million.

Pending home sales in the U.S. are back up, posting the highest gain since 2021. According to housing market platform Redfin, pending home sales rose 2% in the four weeks ending Oct. 6, marking the largest increase in three years. Additionally, mortgage-purchase applications increased by 8% month-over-month, and new listings are up 5.7% year-over-year.

While the U.S. continues to face a housing shortage, a recent report from online lending marketplace Lending Tree shows many homes across the country actually remain vacant. Many homes are temporarily vacant, with over 5.6 million vacant units in the 50 largest metropolitan areas. New Orleans, Miami, and Tampa, Fla., have the highest vacancy rates at 14.5%, 12.92%, and 11.81%, respectively.
